Solyx Switchable™ Film is constructed with a polyester substrate coated with advanced PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) technology, enabling instant transitions between transparent and opaque states.

The film consists of a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between conductive components. When electrical power is applied, the liquid crystal molecules align, allowing light to pass through and create a clear, transparent appearance. When the power is switched off, the molecules disperse randomly, scattering light and producing a frosted, opaque effect that enhances privacy.

Try Solyx Switchable™ Film before installation with our PDLC and Non-PDLC film samples.

PDLC film samples come ready to install with pigtail wires attached for easy installation on any flat glass surface. These 5x7 samples are exclusively available for our installing dealers and approved design professionals.

Non-PDLC samples are 24'' x 48'' and do not contain electrical components. These panels are intended as a training tool for installing the base material.

To clean the switchable film side of the glass, use a dry, soft cloth to lightly remove dust, dirt, and smudges. 

Glass surfaces coated with decorative window film can be cleaned using a soft cloth and a mild cleaning solution. 

To manually clean glass that does not have decorative film or smart film installed, use everyday window cleaning materials. Do not use any glass cleaning products containing vinegar, hydrofluoric, or phosphoric acid.
